Amcorp Group Bhd, in collaboration with Yayasan Azman Hashim (YAH), presented RM246,300 in support of education-related causes, in conjunction with Amcorp’s 108th anniversary celebrations.

The group gave three scholarships worth RM210,000 to three young achievers, namely Sharifah Maisarah Syed Muzafar, Tee Jia En and Tan Yi Qing.

Each of them received RM70,000 to finance their Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) studies.

The scholarships, known as the Amcorp Study Grant (ASG), is open for applications to all Malaysians aged 20 and below, who wish to study ACCA on a full-time basis within Malaysia.

Apart from the scholarships, a donation of RM36,300 was also made to Soroptimist International Club of Damansara (SID), in support of SID’s Building Bridges Beyond Borders Programme (BBBB).

The BBBB entails SID to source for volunteer teachers, mainly undergraduates from overseas, to teach at not-for-profit learning institutions such as the Myanmar Refugee Community Learning Centre, Pure Life Society and Rumah Aman in Malaysia.

The RM36,300 donation will be used to defray part of the volunteer teachers’ expenses.

YAH, a non-profit organisation founded by philanthropist entrepreneur Tan Sri Azman Hashim, is focused on education for the betterment of society.
