Amcorp donates RM18,000 in cash and items to Rumah Victory at the homes’s 30th anniversary celebrations

(Kuala Lumpur 15 Oct 2018) – Amcorp Group Berhad (“Amcorp”) presented a cash donation of RM10,000 and 46 pieces of sports jackets and jerseys worth RM8,000 to Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Victory Malaysia (“Rumah Victory”), in conjunction with the latter’s 30th Anniversary Celebrations. Amcorp Properties Berhad’s Chairman, Puan Shalina Azman presented the donation to Rumah Victory’s Committee Chairman, Mr Pang Foo Wen, at the charitable home’s 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner which was held at the Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

The charity fund raiser was also attended by Yang Berhormat Teresa Kok, Primary Industries Minister of Malaysia. Also present were Rumah Victory’s Ministry Director, Mr Ong Heng Hong, Chairman, Mr Ong Kah Hoo and Committee Chairman, Mr Pang Foo Wen. The elderly from the Rumah Victory Elderly Home and children from Rumah Victory Children Home were also present to join in the celebrations.

The RM10,000 cash donation by Amcorp will channelled towards the construction cost of Rumah Victory’s new Drug Rehabilitation Center in Semenyih while the 46 pieces of jackets and jerseys were presented to the graduating inmates of the Drug Rehabilitation Center.

Activities during the night included delightful tunes from the children of Rumah Victory’s Children’s Homes, testimonies on Rumah Victory’s 30-year journey and a graduation ceremony for 46 members of Rumah Victory’s Drug Rehabilitation Center, who had successfully undergone an 18-month drug rehabilitation programme. Amcorp’s Puan Shalina Azman, along with the other VIP guests, gave out the graduation certificates to the graduating inmates.

Rumah Victory is a non-profit organization established in 1988 by the late Mr Philip Mok Sew Kwong, who himself was a rehabilitated drug addict. Rumah Victory’s first initiative was a drug rehabilitation centre in Kuala Lumpur. It has since expanded its activities to operate a home for the elderly and also children and youth homes.
